Selecting color for your web site is an extremely important step. You learn a lot about color in the book, but the resources on this page should give you what you need to be successful.

Technical Method

The technical method of color selection involves using color theory to build color schemes. In the book, I use a color picker provided by ColorSchemeDesigner.com.

Other Color tools that might be useful to you include

Natural Method

The Natural method of color selection involves using colors found in nature to build your scheme. The most common way to build a palette using the Natural method is to select colors from a photograph.

Photographs

You’ll use several photographs throughout the color chapter.

ColorSchemer Studio

You’ll need a copy of ColorSchemer Studio to follow along with the Natural method section in the book.

You can also use Adobe Kuler to extract colors from an image, although you’ll need to sign up for a free account before you can get started.
